Sahih al-Bukhari, 5283

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Barira's husband was a slave called Mughith, as if I am seeing him now, going behind Barira and weeping with his tears flowing down his beard. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to `Abbas, "O `Abbas ! are you not astonished at the love of Mughith for Barira and the hatred of Barira for Mughith?" The Prophet (ﷺ) then said to Barira, "Why don't you return to him?" She said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Do you order me to do so?" He said, "No, I only intercede for him." She said, "I am not in need of him

Rapporté par Ibn `Abbas : Le mari de Barira était un esclave appelé Mughith. C’est comme si je le voyais encore, suivant Barira en pleurant, les larmes coulant sur sa barbe. Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit à `Abbas : « Ô `Abbas ! N’es-tu pas étonné de l’amour de Mughith pour Barira et du rejet de Barira envers Mughith ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a ensuite dit à Barira : « Pourquoi ne retournes-tu pas vers lui ? » Elle a répondu : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Est-ce un ordre de ta part ? » Il a dit : « Non, j’intercède seulement pour lui. » Elle a dit : « Je n’ai pas besoin de lui. »
