Sahih al-Bukhari, 5101

Narrated Um Habiba:(daughter of Abu Sufyan) I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Marry my sister. the daughter of Abu Sufyan." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do you like that?" I replied, "Yes, for even now I am not your only wife and I like that my sister should share the good with me." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "But that is not lawful for me." I said, We have heard that you want to marry the daughter of Abu Salama." He said, "(You mean) the daughter of Um Salama?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Even if she were not my step-daughter, she would be unlawful for me to marry as she is my foster niece. I and Abu Salama were suckled by Thuwaiba. So you should not present to me your daughters or your sisters (in marriage)." Narrated 'Urwa: Thuwaiba was the freed slave girl of Abu Lahb whom he had manumitted, and then she suckled the Prophet. When Abu Lahb died, one of his relatives saw him in a dream in a very bad state and asked him, "What have you encountered?" Abu Lahb said, "I have not found any rest since I left you, except that I have been given water to drink in this (the space between his thumb and other fingers) and that is because of my manumitting Thuwaiba

Rapporté par Um Habiba (fille d’Abu Sufyan) : J’ai dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Épouse ma sœur, la fille d’Abu Sufyan. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Tu veux cela ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui, car je ne suis déjà pas ta seule épouse et j’aimerais que ma sœur partage ce bien avec moi. » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Mais cela ne m’est pas permis. » J’ai dit : « Nous avons entendu dire que tu veux épouser la fille d’Abu Salama. » Il a dit : « (Tu veux dire) la fille d’Um Salama ? » J’ai dit : « Oui. » Il a dit : « Même si elle n’était pas ma belle-fille, il m’est interdit de l’épouser car c’est ma nièce par l’allaitement. Abu Salama et moi avons été allaités par Thuwayba. Donc, ne me proposez pas vos filles ou vos sœurs en mariage. » Rapporté par ‘Urwa : Thuwayba était l’esclave affranchie d’Abu Lahb, qu’il avait libérée, puis elle a allaité le Prophète. Quand Abu Lahb est mort, un de ses proches l’a vu en rêve dans un mauvais état et lui a demandé : « Qu’as-tu rencontré ? » Abu Lahb a répondu : « Je n’ai pas eu de repos depuis que je vous ai quittés, sauf qu’on m’a permis de boire un peu d’eau dans cet espace (entre le pouce et les autres doigts), et cela à cause de l’affranchissement de Thuwayba. »
