Sahih al-Bukhari, 4761

Narrated `Abdullah:I or somebody, asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) "Which is the biggest sin in the Sight of Allah?" He said, "That you set up a rival (in worship) to Allah though He Alone created you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "Then, that you kill your son, being afraid that he may share your meals with you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "That you commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor." Then the following Verse was revealed to confirm the statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ): "Those who invoke not with Allah, any other god, nor kill life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse

Rapporté par `Abdullah : Moi ou quelqu’un d’autre avons demandé au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) : « Quel est le plus grand péché aux yeux d’Allah ? » Il a répondu : « Que tu donnes un associé à Allah alors que c’est Lui seul qui t’a créé. » J’ai demandé : « Et ensuite ? » Il a dit : « Que tu tues ton enfant par crainte qu’il partage ta nourriture. » J’ai demandé : « Et ensuite ? » Il a dit : « Que tu commettes l’adultère avec la femme de ton voisin. » Puis le verset suivant a été révélé pour confirmer la parole du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) : « Ceux qui n’invoquent pas avec Allah une autre divinité, ne tuent pas la vie qu’Allah a rendue sacrée sauf pour une juste raison, et ne commettent pas l’adultère… »
