Sahih al-Bukhari, 4745

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d:'Uwaimir came to `Asim bin `Adi who was the chief of Bani Ajlan and said, "What do you say about a man who has found another man with his wife? Should he kill him whereupon you would kill him (i.e. the husband), or what should he do? Please ask Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about this matter on my behalf." `Asim then went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (And asked him that question) but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) disliked the question," When 'Uwaimir asked `Asim (about the Prophet's answer) `Asim replied that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) disliked such questions and considered it shameful. "Uwaimir then said, "By Allah, I will not give up asking unless I ask Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about it." Uwaimir came (to the Prophet ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! A man has found another man with his wife! Should he kill him whereupon you would kill him (the husband, in Qisas) or what should he do?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah has revealed regarding you and your wife's case in the Qur'an "So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered them to perform the measures of Mula'ana according to what Allah had mentioned in His Book. So 'Uwaimir did Mula'ana with her and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! If I kept her I would oppress her." So 'Uwaimir divorced her and so divorce became a tradition after them for those who happened to be involved in a case of Mula'ana. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said, "Look! If she (Uwaimir's wife) delivers a black child with deep black large eyes, big hips and fat legs, then I will be of the opinion that 'Uwaimir has spoken the truth; but if she delivers a red child looking like a Wahra then we will consider that 'Uwaimir has told a lie against her." Later on she delivered a child carrying the qualities which Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had mentioned as a proof for 'Uwaimir's claim; therefore the child was ascribed to its mother henceforth

Rapporté par Sahl bin Saud : ‘Uwaimir est allé voir `Asim bin `Adi, le chef des Bani Ajlan, et lui a dit : « Que penses-tu d’un homme qui trouve un autre homme avec sa femme ? Doit-il le tuer et alors tu le ferais tuer (c’est-à-dire le mari), ou que doit-il faire ? Demande, s’il te plaît, au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) à ce sujet pour moi. » `Asim est alors allé voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et lui a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! » (et lui a posé la question), mais le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) n’aimait pas cette question. Quand ‘Uwaimir demanda à `Asim ce qu’avait répondu le Prophète, `Asim répondit que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) n’aimait pas ce genre de question et trouvait cela honteux. ‘Uwaimir dit alors : « Par Allah, je n’arrêterai pas de demander tant que je n’aurai pas interrogé le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) moi-même. » ‘Uwaimir alla donc voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Un homme a trouvé un autre homme avec sa femme ! Doit-il le tuer et alors tu le ferais tuer (le mari, en rétorsion), ou que doit-il faire ? » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dit : « Allah a révélé à propos de toi et de ta femme ce qui est dans le Coran. » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) leur ordonna alors de faire la procédure de Mula’ana comme Allah l’a mentionné dans Son Livre. ‘Uwaimir fit la Mula’ana avec elle et dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Si je la gardais, je lui ferais du tort. » ‘Uwaimir divorça donc d’elle, et le divorce est devenu une tradition après eux pour ceux qui se retrouvent dans une situation de Mula’ana. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dit ensuite : « Regardez ! Si elle (la femme d’Uwaimir) accouche d’un enfant noir aux grands yeux noirs, aux hanches larges et aux jambes épaisses, alors je penserai qu’Uwaimir a dit la vérité ; mais si elle accouche d’un enfant roux ressemblant à un Wahra, alors nous considérerons qu’Uwaimir a menti sur elle. » Plus tard, elle accoucha d’un enfant ayant les caractéristiques que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) avait décrites comme preuve de la parole d’Uwaimir ; ainsi, l’enfant fut attribué à sa mère par la suite
