Sahih al-Bukhari, 4239

Narrated Sa`id:Aban bin Sa`id came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and greeted him. Abu Huraira said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This (Aban) is the murderer of Ibn Qauqal." (On hearing that), Aban said to Abu Huraira, "How strange your saying is! You, a guinea pig, descending from Qadum Dan, blaming me for (killing) a person whom Allah favored (with martyrdom) with my hand, and whom He forbade to degrade me with his hand

Rapporté par Sa`id : Aban bin Sa`id est venu saluer le Prophète (ﷺ). Abu Huraira a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! Cet homme (Aban) est le meurtrier d’Ibn Qauqal. » En entendant cela, Aban a répondu à Abu Huraira : « Comme tes paroles sont étranges ! Toi, un cobaye descendu de Qadum Dan, tu me reproches d’avoir tué quelqu’un qu’Allah a honoré (par le martyre) par ma main, et qu’Il m’a protégé de l’humiliation par sa main. »
