Sahih al-Bukhari, 3372

Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "We are more liable to be in doubt than Abraham when he said, 'My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead." . He (i.e. Allah) said: 'Don't you believe then?' He (i.e. Abraham) said: "Yes, but (I ask) in order to be stronger in Faith." (2.260) And may Allah send His Mercy on Lot! He wished to have a powerful support. If I were to stay in prison for such a long time as Joseph did I would have accepted the offer (of freedom without insisting on having my guiltlessness declared)

Rapporté par Abu Huraira : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Nous sommes plus enclins au doute qu’Abraham, quand il a dit : “Mon Seigneur ! Montre-moi comment Tu redonnes la vie aux morts.” Allah lui a dit : “Ne crois-tu pas ?” Il a répondu : “Oui, mais c’est pour que ma foi soit plus forte.” (2.260) Qu’Allah accorde Sa miséricorde à Loth ! Il voulait avoir un soutien puissant. Si j’étais resté aussi longtemps en prison que Joseph, j’aurais accepté la liberté sans insister pour qu’on déclare mon innocence. »
