Sahih al-Bukhari, 2710

Narrated `Abdullah bin Ka`b:That Ka`b bin Malik told him that in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) he demanded his debt from Ibn Abu Hadrad in the Mosque. Their voices grew louder till Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) heard them while he was in his house. So he lifted the curtain of his room and called Ka`b bin Malik saying, "O Ka`b!" He replied, "Labbaik! O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He beckoned to him with his hand suggesting that he deduct half the debt. Ka`b said, "I agree, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said (to Ibn Abu Hadrad), "Get up and pay him the rest

Rapporté par `Abdullah bin Ka`b : Ka`b bin Malik lui a raconté que, du vivant du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), il a réclamé sa dette à Ibn Abu Hadrad dans la mosquée. Le ton est monté jusqu’à ce que le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), qui était chez lui, les entende. Il a alors soulevé le rideau de sa chambre et a appelé Ka`b bin Malik en disant : « Ô Ka`b ! » Il a répondu : « Me voici, ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! » Le Prophète lui a fait signe de la main pour lui indiquer de réduire la dette de moitié. Ka`b a dit : « J’accepte, ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ! » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a alors dit (à Ibn Abu Hadrad) : « Lève-toi et paie-lui le reste. »
