Sahih al-Bukhari, 2268

Narrated Ibn `Umar:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Your example and the example of the people of the two Scriptures (i.e. Jews and Christians) is like the example of a man who employed some laborers and asked them, 'Who will work for me from morning till midday for one Qirat?' The Jews accepted and carried out the work. He then asked, Who will work for me from midday up to the `Asr prayer for one Qirat?' The Christians accepted and fulfilled the work. He then said, 'Who will work for me from the `Asr till sunset for two Qirats?' You, Muslims have accepted the offer. The Jews and the Christians got angry and said, 'Why should we work more and get lesser wages?' (Allah) said, 'Have I withheld part of your right?' They replied in the negative. He said, 'It is My Blessing, I bestow upon whomever I wish

Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Votre situation et celle des gens des deux Écritures (c’est-à-dire les Juifs et les Chrétiens) ressemble à celle d’un homme qui a embauché des ouvriers et leur a demandé : “Qui travaillera pour moi du matin jusqu’à midi pour un qirat ?” Les Juifs ont accepté et ont fait le travail. Ensuite, il a demandé : “Qui travaillera pour moi de midi jusqu’à la prière d’`Asr pour un qirat ?” Les Chrétiens ont accepté et ont accompli le travail. Puis il a dit : “Qui travaillera pour moi de l’`Asr jusqu’au coucher du soleil pour deux qirats ?” Vous, les musulmans, avez accepté. Les Juifs et les Chrétiens se sont fâchés et ont dit : “Pourquoi travaillons-nous plus et recevons-nous moins ?” (Allah) a dit : “Ai-je diminué une partie de votre droit ?” Ils ont répondu non. Il a dit : “C’est Ma bénédiction, Je la donne à qui Je veux.” »
