Sahih al-Bukhari, 2077

Narrated Hudhaifa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Before your time the angels received the soul of a man and asked him, 'Did you do any good deeds (in your life)?' He replied, 'I used to order my employees to grant time to the rich person to pay his debts at his convenience.' So Allah said to the angels; "Excuse him." Rabi said that (the dead man said), 'I used to be easy to the rich and grant time to the poor.' Or, in another narration, 'grant time to the well-off and forgive the needy,' or, 'accept from the well-off and forgive the needy

Rapporté par Hudhaifa : Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : Avant vous, les anges ont pris l’âme d’un homme et lui ont demandé : As-tu fait de bonnes actions dans ta vie ? Il a répondu : Je disais à mes employés de laisser du temps aux riches pour qu’ils paient leurs dettes quand cela leur convenait. Alors Allah a dit aux anges : Pardonnez-lui. Rabi a dit que (l’homme décédé a dit) : J’étais indulgent avec les riches et je laissais du temps aux pauvres. Ou, dans une autre version : je laissais du temps à ceux qui avaient les moyens et je pardonnais aux nécessiteux, ou : je prenais des riches et je pardonnais aux pauvres
