Sahih al-Bukhari, 1934

Narrated Humran:I saw `Uthman performing ablution; he washed his hands thrice, rinsed his mouth and then washed his nose, by putting water in it and then blowing it out, and washed his face thrice, and then washed his right forearm up to the elbow thrice, and then the left-forearm up to the elbow thrice, then smeared his head with water, washed his right foot thrice, and then his left foot thrice and said, "I saw Allah's Apostle performing ablution similar to my present ablution, and then he said, 'Whoever performs ablution like my present ablution and then offers two rak`at in which he does not think of worldly things, all his previous sins will be forgiven

Rapporté par Humran : J’ai vu ‘Uthman faire ses ablutions : il s’est lavé les mains trois fois, s’est rincé la bouche, puis s’est lavé le nez en y mettant de l’eau et en la soufflant, s’est lavé le visage trois fois, puis l’avant-bras droit jusqu’au coude trois fois, puis l’avant-bras gauche jusqu’au coude trois fois, puis il a passé de l’eau sur sa tête, s’est lavé le pied droit trois fois, puis le pied gauche trois fois, et il a dit : « J’ai vu l’Envoyé d’Allah faire ses ablutions comme je viens de le faire, puis il a dit : ‘Celui qui fait ses ablutions comme je viens de le faire, puis prie deux unités de prière sans penser aux choses de ce monde, tous ses péchés passés seront pardonnés.’ »
