Sunan Abi Dawud, 793

Jabir narrated the story of mu’adh and said:The prophet (ﷺ) said to a youth: My nephew, what do you do in prayer? He replied: I recited fatihat al-katab and I ask Allah for paradise and seek his refuge from hell-fire I do not understand well your sound and the sound of mu’adh. The prophet (ﷺ) said: I and Mu’adh go around both (paradise and Hell-fire), or he said something similar

Rapporté par Jabir رضي الله عنه, qui a raconté l’histoire de Mu‘adh : Le Prophète ﷺ a dit à un jeune homme : « Mon neveu, que fais-tu dans la prière ? » Il a répondu : « Je récite la Fatiha et je demande à Allah le Paradis et je cherche refuge auprès de Lui contre l’Enfer. Je ne comprends pas bien ta récitation ni celle de Mu‘adh. » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Moi et Mu‘adh, nous tournons autour de ces deux choses (le Paradis et l’Enfer), » ou il a dit quelque chose de semblable
