Sunan Abi Dawud, 5241

Narrated Hassan ibn Ibrahim: I asked Hisham ibn Urwah about the cutting of a lote-tree when he was leaning against the house of Urwah. He said: Do you not see these doors and leaves? These were made of the lote-tree of Urwah which Urwah used to cut from his hand? He said: There is no harm in it. Humayd's version adds: You have brought an innovation, O Iraqi! He said: The innovation is from you. I heard someone say at Mecca: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed him who cuts a lote-tree. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect

Rapporté par Hassan ibn Ibrahim رضي الله عنه : J’ai interrogé Hisham ibn Urwah au sujet de la coupe du jujubier alors qu’il était appuyé contre la maison d’Urwah. Il a dit : « Ne vois-tu pas ces portes et ces feuilles ? Elles sont faites du jujubier d’Urwah qu’Urwah coupait lui-même. » Il a dit : « Il n’y a pas de mal à cela. » Dans la version de Humayd, il ajoute : « Tu as inventé une nouveauté, ô Irakien ! » Il a dit : « La nouveauté vient de vous. J’ai entendu quelqu’un dire à La Mecque : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a maudit celui qui coupe un jujubier. » Il a ensuite mentionné la suite du récit dans le même sens
