Sunan Abi Dawud, 5112

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah! one of us has thoughts of such nature that he would rather be reduced to charcoal than speak about them. He said: Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great. Praise be to Allah Who has reduced the guile of the devil to evil prompting. Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Abbas : Un homme est venu voir le Prophète ﷺ et a dit : « Messager d’Allah ! L’un d’entre nous a parfois des pensées si graves qu’il préférerait être réduit en charbon plutôt que d’en parler. » Il a dit : « Allah est le Plus Grand, Allah est le Plus Grand, Allah est le Plus Grand. Louange à Allah qui a réduit la ruse du diable à de simples suggestions. » Ibn Qudamah a dit : « a réduit son affaire » au lieu de « a réduit sa ruse »
