Sunan Abi Dawud, 4898

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin: Ibn Awn said: I asked about the meaning of intisar (revenge) in the Qur'anic verse: "But indeed if any do help and defend themselves (intasara) after a wrong (done) to them, against them there is no cause of blame." Then Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jad'an told me on the authority of Umm Muhammad, the wife of his father. Ibn Awn said: It was believed that she used to go to the Mother of the Faithful (i.e. Aisha). She said: The Mother of the Faithful said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came upon me while Zaynab, daughter of Jahsh, was with us. He began to do something with his hand. I signalled to him until I made him understand about her. So he stopped. Zaynab came on and began to abuse Aisha. She tried to prevent her but she did not stop. So he (the Prophet) said to Aisha: Abuse her. So she abused her and dominated her. Zaynab then went to Ali and said: Aisha abused you and did (such and such). Then Fatimah came (to the Prophet) and he said to her: She is the favourite of your father, by the Lord of the Ka'bah! She then returned and said to them: I said to him such and such, and he said to me such and such. Then Ali came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and spoke to him about that

Rapporté par Aisha, la mère des croyants رضي الله عنها : Ibn Awn a dit : J’ai demandé la signification du mot « intisar » (se défendre) dans le verset du Coran : « Mais s’ils se défendent après avoir subi une injustice, il n’y a pas de reproche contre eux. » Alors Ali ibn Zayd ibn Jad'an m’a raconté de la part de Umm Muhammad, l’épouse de son père. Ibn Awn a dit : On pensait qu’elle allait voir la Mère des croyants (c’est-à-dire Aisha). Elle a dit : La Mère des croyants a dit : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est venu vers moi alors que Zaynab, fille de Jahsh, était avec nous. Il a commencé à faire un geste avec sa main. Je lui ai fait signe jusqu’à ce qu’il comprenne ce que je voulais dire à son sujet. Alors il s’est arrêté. Zaynab est venue et a commencé à insulter Aisha. Elle a essayé de l’arrêter, mais elle n’a pas arrêté. Alors il (le Prophète) a dit à Aisha : « Réponds-lui. » Alors elle lui a répondu et l’a surpassée. Zaynab est ensuite allée voir Ali et a dit : « Aisha t’a insulté et a fait ceci et cela. » Puis Fatima est venue voir le Prophète et il lui a dit : « C’est la préférée de ton père, par le Seigneur de la Kaaba ! » Elle est alors repartie et leur a dit : « Je lui ai dit ceci et il m’a répondu cela. » Puis Ali est venu voir le Prophète ﷺ et lui a parlé de cela
