Sunan Abi Dawud, 4657

‘Imran b. Husain reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying :the best of my people is the generation in which I have been sent, then their immediate followers, then their immediate followers. Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. After them will be people who will give testimony without being asked, who will make vows which they do not fulfill, who will be treacherous and not to be trusted, among whom fatness will appear

Rapporté par ‘Imran b. Husain : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « La meilleure génération de ma communauté est celle dans laquelle j’ai été envoyé, puis ceux qui les suivent immédiatement, puis ceux qui les suivent. Allah sait mieux s’il a mentionné la troisième ou non. Après eux viendront des gens qui témoigneront sans qu’on leur demande, feront des vœux qu’ils ne tiendront pas, seront déloyaux et indignes de confiance, et chez qui l’embonpoint apparaîtra. »
