Sunan Abi Dawud, 4498

Narrated AbuHurayrah: A man was killed in the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ). The matter was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ). He entrusted him to the legal guardian of the slain. The slayer said: Messenger of Allah, I swear by Allah, I did not intend to kill him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to the legal guardian: Now if he is true and you kill him, you will enter Hell-fire. So he let him go. His hands were tied with a strap. He came out pulling his strap. Hence he was called Dhu an-Nis'ah (possessor of strap)

Rapporté par Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه : Un homme a été tué du vivant du Prophète ﷺ. L’affaire a été portée devant le Prophète ﷺ. Il l’a confié au tuteur légal de la victime. Le meurtrier a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, je jure par Allah que je n’avais pas l’intention de le tuer. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit au tuteur légal : « Maintenant, s’il dit la vérité et que tu le tues, tu entreras en Enfer. » Alors il l’a relâché. Ses mains étaient attachées avec une lanière. Il est sorti en traînant sa lanière. C’est pourquoi on l’a appelé Dhu an-Nis’ah (celui qui a une lanière)
