Sunan Abi Dawud, 3595

Ka'b bin Malik said that in the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) he made demand in the mosque for payment of a debt due to him from Ibn Abi Hadrad, and their voices rose till the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who was in his house, heard them. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then went out to them and, removing the curtain of his apartment, he called to Ka'b bin Malik, addressing:"Ka'b!" He said: "At your service, Messenger of Allah." Thereupon he made a gesture with is hand indicating: Remit half the debt due to you. Ka'b said: "I shall do so, Messenger of Allah." The Prophet (ﷺ) then said: "Get up and discharge

Ka'b bin Malik a dit qu’à l’époque du Messager d’Allah ﷺ, il a réclamé dans la mosquée le paiement d’une dette que lui devait Ibn Abi Hadrad, et leurs voix se sont élevées au point que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, qui était chez lui, les a entendus. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est alors sorti, a écarté le rideau de son appartement et a appelé Ka'b bin Malik en disant : « Ka'b ! » Il a répondu : « Me voici, Messager d’Allah. » Le Prophète ﷺ a alors fait un geste de la main indiquant : « Remets la moitié de la dette qu’on te doit. » Ka'b a dit : « Je le fais, Messager d’Allah. » Le Prophète ﷺ a alors dit : « Lève-toi et règle la dette. »
