Sunan Abi Dawud, 3093

Narrated 'Aishah: I said: Messenger of Allah, I know the severest verse in the Qur'an. He asked: What is that verse. A'ishah? She replied: Allah's words: "If anyone does evil, he will be requited for it." He said: Do you know A'ishah, that when a believer is afflicted with a calamity or a thorn, it serves as an atonement for his evil deed. He who is called to account will be punished. She said: Does Allah not say: "He truly will recieve an easy reckoning." He said: This is the presentation, A'ishah. If anyone criticized in reckoning, he will be punished. Abu Dawud said: This is the version of Ibn Bashshar. He said: Ibn Abi Mulaikah narrated to us

Rapporté par Aishah رضي الله عنها : J’ai dit : « Messager d’Allah, je connais le verset le plus sévère du Coran. » Il a demandé : « Quel est ce verset, Aishah ? » Elle a répondu : « Les paroles d’Allah : “Si quelqu’un fait le mal, il en sera rétribué.” » Il a dit : « Sais-tu, Aishah, que lorsqu’un croyant est éprouvé par un malheur ou même une épine, cela efface ses mauvaises actions. Celui qui est appelé à rendre des comptes sera puni. » Elle a dit : « Allah ne dit-il pas : “Il recevra un jugement facile” ? » Il a dit : « C’est la présentation, Aishah. Si quelqu’un est critiqué lors du jugement, il sera puni. » Abu Dawud a dit : Ceci est la version de Ibn Bashshar. Il a dit : Ibn Abi Mulaikah nous l’a rapporté
