Sunan Abi Dawud, 2983

Narrated 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Laila:I heard 'Ali say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) assigned me the fifth (of the booty). I spent it on its beneficiaries during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr and of 'Umar. Some property was brought to him ('Umar) and he called me and said: Take it. I said: I dod not want it. He said: Take it ; you have right to it. I said: We do not need it. So he deposited in the government treasury

Rapporté par ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Laila رضي الله عنه : J’ai entendu ‘Ali رضي الله عنه dire : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ m’a attribué la part du cinquième (du butin). Je l’ai distribuée à ses bénéficiaires du vivant du Messager d’Allah ﷺ, d’Abu Bakr et de ‘Umar. Un jour, on a apporté un bien à ‘Umar et il m’a appelé en disant : « Prends-le. » J’ai répondu : « Je n’en veux pas. » Il a insisté : « Prends-le, tu y as droit. » J’ai dit : « Nous n’en avons pas besoin. » Alors il l’a déposé dans le trésor public
