Sunan Abi Dawud, 2694

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then said: Return to them (Hawazin) their women and their sons. If any of you withholds anything from this booty, we have six camels for him from the first booty which Allah gives us. The Prophet (ﷺ) then approached a camel, and taking a hair from its hump said: O people, I get nothing of this booty, not even this (meanwhile raising his two fingers) but the fifth, and the fifth is returned to you, so hand over threads and needles. A man got up with a ball of hair in his hand and said: I took this to repair the cloth under a pack-saddle. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: You can have what belongs to me and to the Banu al-Muttalib. He said: If it produces the result that I now realise, I have no desire for it

Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit alors : « Rendez-leur (aux Hawazin) leurs femmes et leurs enfants. Si l’un de vous garde quelque chose de ce butin, nous lui donnerons six chameaux sur le premier butin qu’Allah nous accordera. » Le Prophète ﷺ s’approcha alors d’un chameau, prit un poil de sa bosse et dit : « Ô gens, je ne prends rien de ce butin, pas même ceci (en levant deux doigts), sauf le cinquième, et ce cinquième vous est rendu. Rendez donc même les fils et les aiguilles. » Un homme se leva avec une pelote de poils dans la main et dit : « J’ai pris cela pour réparer le tissu sous une selle. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit : « Tu peux garder ce qui m’appartient à moi et aux Banu al-Muttalib. » Il dit : « Si j’avais su ce que je sais maintenant, je n’en aurais pas voulu. »
