Sunan Abi Dawud, 2525

Narrated AbuAyyub al-Ansari: AbuAyyub heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Capitals will be conquered at your hands, and you will have to raise companies in large armies. A man will be unwilling to join a company, so he will escape from his people and go round the tribes offering himself to them, saying: Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Beware: That man is a hireling to the last drop of his blood

Rapporté par Abu Ayyub al-Ansari رضي الله عنه : Abu Ayyub a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : « Des capitales seront conquises par vos mains, et vous devrez former de grandes armées. Un homme ne voudra pas rejoindre une troupe, alors il fuira son peuple et ira de tribu en tribu en disant : “Qui me laissera prendre sa place dans telle ou telle expédition ?” Attention : cet homme sera un mercenaire jusqu’à la dernière goutte de son sang. »
