Sunan Abi Dawud, 2478

Miqdan bin Shuraih reported on the authority of his father. I asked A’ishah about settling in the desert (to worship Allaah in loneliness). She said “The Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ) would go out (from Madina) to these torrential streams. Once he intended to go out to the desert (for worshipping Allaah). He sent me a She-Camel from the Camels of sadaqah that was not used as a mount. He said to me “A’ishah be lenient, for leniency makes a thing decorated and when it is removed from a thing it makes it defective

Miqdan bin Shuraih a rapporté d’après son père : « J’ai demandé à Aishah رضي الله عنها au sujet du fait de s’installer dans le désert pour adorer Allah dans la solitude. Elle a répondu : “Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ sortait (de Médine) vers les torrents. Un jour, il a voulu aller dans le désert pour adorer Allah. Il m’a envoyé une chamelle des animaux de la sadaqah qui n’était pas utilisée comme monture. Il m’a dit : ‘Aishah, sois douce, car la douceur embellit toute chose, et quand elle est retirée, cela la rend défectueuse.’” »
