Sunan Abi Dawud, 2260

Abu Hurairah said A man from Banu Fazarah came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said “My wife has given birth to a black son”. He said “Have you any camels?” He said “They are red”. He asked “Is there a dusky one among them?” He replied “Some of them are dusky”. He asked “How do you think they have come about?” He replied “This may be a strain to which they reverted”. He said “And this is perhaps a strain to which the child has reverted.”

Rapporté par Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه : Un homme de Banu Fazarah est venu voir le Prophète ﷺ et a dit : « Ma femme a donné naissance à un fils noir. » Le Prophète ﷺ lui a demandé : « As-tu des chameaux ? » Il a répondu : « Ils sont rouges. » Il a demandé : « Y en a-t-il un foncé parmi eux ? » Il a répondu : « Certains sont foncés. » Il a demandé : « Comment expliques-tu cela ? » Il a répondu : « Cela peut être un trait qui réapparaît. » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Et cet enfant aussi, c’est peut-être un trait qui est réapparu. »
