Sunan Abi Dawud, 2182

‘Abd Allah (bin Umar) said that he divorced his wife while she was menstruating. ‘Umar mentioned the matter to the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) became angry and said “Command him, he must take her back and keep her back till she is purified, then has another menstrual period and is purified. Then if he desires he may divorce her during the period of purity before he has intercourse with her. This is the divorce for waiting period as commanded by Allaah, the Exalted

‘Abd Allah (bin Umar) رضي الله عنه a dit qu’il avait divorcé de sa femme alors qu’elle avait ses règles. ‘Umar رضي الله عنه en parla au Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ se mit en colère et dit : « Ordonne-lui de la reprendre et de la garder jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit purifiée, puis qu’elle ait un autre cycle et soit de nouveau purifiée. Ensuite, s’il le souhaite, il pourra la divorcer pendant la période de pureté, avant d’avoir des rapports avec elle. C’est ainsi qu’Allah, le Très-Haut, a prescrit le divorce pour la période d’attente. »
