Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) preached and said: Abstain from avarice, for those who had been before you were annihilated due to avarice. It (avarice) commanded them to show niggardliness; it commanded them to cut off their relationship with their nearest relatives, so they cut off. Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As رضي الله عنه : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a prêché et a dit : « Gardez-vous de l’avarice, car ceux qui vous ont précédés ont été détruits à cause de l’avarice. Elle leur a ordonné d’être avares, alors ils l’ont été ; elle leur a ordonné de couper les liens avec leurs proches, alors ils l’ont fait ; elle leur a ordonné de se montrer dépensiers, alors ils l’ont fait. »
