Sunan Abi Dawud, 1437

Abd Allah b. Abu Qais said:I asked 'Aishah about the witr observes by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). She replied: Sometime he observed the witr prayer in the early hours of the night, sometimes he observed it at the end of it. I asked: How did he recite the Qur'an ? Did he recite the Qur'an quietly or loudly ? She replied: He did it in any way. Sometimes he recited quietly and sometimes loudly, sometimes he took bath and then slept and sometimes he performed ablution and then slept. Abu Dawud said: The narrators other than Qutaibah said: This refer to his bath due to sexual defilement

Abd Allah b. Abu Qais a dit : J’ai demandé à Aïcha رضي الله عنها au sujet du witr accompli par le Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Elle a répondu : « Parfois il faisait le witr en début de nuit, parfois à la fin. » J’ai demandé : « Comment récitait-il le Coran ? Le récitait-il à voix basse ou haute ? » Elle a répondu : « Il faisait les deux. Parfois à voix basse, parfois à voix haute. Parfois il se lavait et dormait, parfois il faisait les ablutions et dormait. » Abu Dawud a dit : Les narrateurs autres que Qutaibah ont dit : Cela fait référence à son bain après une impureté majeure
