Abdullah bin Umar said:"I heard 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, say: The Prophet used to give me payment and I would say: Give it to someone who is more, in need of it than I am, until one day he gave me some money and I said to him: Give it to someone who is more in need of it than I am. He said: Take it and keep it or give it in charity. Whatever comes to you of this wealth when you are not hoping for it and not asking for it, take it, and whatever does not, then do not wish for it

Rapporté par Abdullah bin Umar : J’ai entendu ‘Umar, رضي الله عنه, dire : Le Prophète me donnait un paiement et je disais : « Donne-le à quelqu’un qui en a plus besoin que moi. » Jusqu’au jour où il m’a donné de l’argent et j’ai dit : « Donne-le à quelqu’un qui en a plus besoin que moi. » Il a dit : « Prends-le et garde-le ou donne-le en aumône. Tout ce qui te vient de cette richesse sans que tu l’espères ni ne le demandes, prends-le, et ce qui ne vient pas, ne le désire pas. »
