صحيح مسلم 1916

Alqama reported. We went to Syria and Abu Darda' came to us and said:Is there anyone among you who recites according to the recitation of Abdullah? I said: Yes, it is I. He again said: How did you hear 'Abdullah reciting this verse: (wa'l-lail-i-idha yaghsha = when the night covers)? He ('Alqama) said: I heard him reciting it (like this) (wa'l-lail-i-idha yaghsha) wa-dhakar wal untha = when the night covers and the males and the females). Upon this he said: By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reciting in this way, but they (the Muslims of Syria) desire us to recite: (wa ma khalaqa), but I do not yield to their desire

Rapporté par 'Alqama : Nous sommes allés en Syrie et Abu Darda’ est venu à nous et a dit : « Y a-t-il parmi vous quelqu’un qui récite selon la récitation d’Abdullah ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui, c’est moi. » Il demanda : « Comment as-tu entendu Abdullah réciter ce verset : (wa'l-lail-i-idha yaghsha = quand la nuit couvre) ? » 'Alqama répondit : « Je l’ai entendu réciter ainsi : (wa'l-lail-i-idha yaghsha) wa-dhakar wal untha = quand la nuit couvre, et les mâles et les femelles. » Abu Darda’ dit : « Par Allah, j’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ réciter de cette façon, mais les musulmans de Syrie veulent que nous récitions : (wa ma khalaqa), mais je ne cède pas à leur désir. »
