صحيح مسلم 1176

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported:I said prayer with the Apostle (ﷺ) turning towards Bait-ul-Maqdis for sixteen months till this verse of Surah Baqara wis revealed:" And wherever you are turn your faces towards it" (ii. 144). This verse was revealed when the Apostle (ﷺ) had said prayer. A person amongst his people passed by the people of Ansar as they were engaged in prayer. He narrated to them (this command of Allah) and they turned their faces towards the Ka'ba

Rapporté par Al-Bara’ b. ‘Azib : J’ai prié avec l’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ en direction de Bayt al-Maqdis pendant seize mois, jusqu’à ce que ce verset de la sourate al-Baqara soit révélé : « Où que vous soyez, tournez votre visage vers elle » (2:144). Ce verset a été révélé alors que l’Envoyé d’Allah ﷺ venait de prier. Une personne de son peuple est passée devant les Ansar qui étaient en prière, et il leur a transmis ce commandement d’Allah. Alors ils se sont tournés vers la Ka‘ba
