Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Said al- Maqburi from Abdullah ibn Abi Qatada that his father had said that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Abou Katada a rapporté qu'un homme vint trouver l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) et lui dit: «O Envoyé d'Allah! Si je suis tué en combattant dans la voie d'Allah, me résignant et espérant être récompensé, allant toujours en avant sans jamais reculer. Allah me pardonnera-t-il mes péchés»? Il lui répondit: «Oui». L'homme partit, l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) l'appela ou ordonna qu'on l'appelle et lui dit: «Qu'est-ce que tu viens de dire»; l'homme reprit ses dires; le Prophète (salallahou alayhi wa salam) (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) lui répondit alors: «Oui, excepté la dette, et c'est Gabriel qui est venu me le dire»
