سنن ابن ماجه 2434

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that :his father died owing thirty Wasq to a Jewish man. Jabir bin Abdullah asked him for respite but he refused. Jabir asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to intercede for him with him, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went and spoke to the Jew, asking him to accept dates in lieu of what was owed, but he refused. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) spoke to him but he refused to give respite. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went in among the date-palm trees and walked among them. Then he said to Jabir: “Pick (dates) for him and pay off what is owed to him in full.” So he picked thirty Wasq of dates after the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came back, and there were twelve Wasq more (than what was owed). Jabir came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to tell him what had happened, and he found that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was absent. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came back he came to him and told him that he had paid off the debt in full, and he told him about the extra dates. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Tell 'Umar bin Khattab about that.” So Jabir went to 'Umar said to him: “I knew when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) walked amongst them that Allah (SWT) would bless them for us.”

Rapporté par Jabir bin 'Abdullah : Son père est mort en devant trente Wasq à un homme juif. Jabir bin Abdullah lui a demandé un délai, mais il a refusé. Jabir a demandé au Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) d’intercéder, alors le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est allé parler au Juif et lui a proposé des dattes à la place de la dette, mais il a refusé. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) lui a reparlé, mais il a encore refusé un délai. Ensuite, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est allé parmi les palmiers et a marché entre eux. Puis il a dit à Jabir : “Cueille (des dattes) pour lui et rembourse-lui tout ce que tu lui dois.” Jabir a donc cueilli trente Wasq de dattes après le retour du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), et il en restait douze Wasq en plus. Jabir est allé voir le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) pour lui raconter, mais il était absent. Quand le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) est revenu, il lui a raconté qu’il avait tout remboursé et qu’il restait des dattes en plus. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : “Raconte cela à 'Umar bin Khattab.” Jabir est donc allé voir 'Umar, qui a dit : “Je savais, quand le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a marché parmi eux, qu’Allah (SWT) les bénirait pour nous.”
