صحيح البخاري 701

Narrated `Amr:Jabir bin `Abdullah said, "Mu`adh bin Jabal used to pray with the Prophet (ﷺ) and then go to lead his people in prayer Once he led the `Isha' prayer and recited Surat "Al-Baqara." Somebody left the prayer and Mu`adh criticized him. The news reached the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said to Mu`adh, 'You are putting the people to trial,' and repeated it thrice (or said something similar) and ordered him to recite two medium Suras of Mufassal." (`Amr said that he had forgotten the names of those Suras)

Rapporté par `Amr : Jabir ibn `Abdullah a dit : « Mu`adh ibn Jabal priait avec le Prophète (ﷺ), puis il allait diriger la prière pour son peuple. Une fois, il a dirigé la prière du ‘Isha et a récité la sourate "Al-Baqara". Quelqu’un a quitté la prière et Mu`adh l’a critiqué. La nouvelle est parvenue au Prophète (ﷺ) qui a dit à Mu`adh : Tu mets les gens à l’épreuve, et il l’a répété trois fois (ou a dit quelque chose de similaire), puis il lui a ordonné de réciter deux sourates moyennes parmi les Mufassal. » (`Amr a dit qu’il avait oublié le nom de ces sourates)
