Narrated `Abdullah:`Umar saw a silken cloak over a man (for sale) so he took it to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Buy this and wear it when the delegate come to you.' He said, 'The silk is worn by one who will have no share (in the Here-after).' Some time passed after this event, and then the Prophet (ﷺ) sent a (similar) cloak to him. `Umar brought that cloak back to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, 'You have sent this to me, and you said about a similar one what you said?' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'I have sent it to you so that you may get money by selling it.' Because of this, Ibn `Umar used to hate the silken markings on the garments

Rapporté par `Abdullah : `Umar a vu un manteau de soie sur un homme (à vendre), alors il l’a apporté au Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah ! Achète-le et porte-le quand les délégations viendront te voir. » Il a répondu : « La soie est portée par celui qui n’aura aucune part (dans l’au-delà). » Quelque temps après, le Prophète (ﷺ) lui a envoyé un manteau similaire. `Umar a rapporté ce manteau au Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : « Tu m’as envoyé ceci, alors que tu as dit ce que tu as dit à propos d’un manteau semblable ? » Le Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : « Je te l’ai envoyé pour que tu puisses le vendre et en tirer de l’argent. » À cause de cela, Ibn `Umar n’aimait pas les décorations en soie sur les vêtements
