Narrated Shaqiq bin Salama:Once `Abdullah bin Mas`ud delivered a sermon before us and said, "By Allah, I learnt over seventy Suras direct from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . By Allah, the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) came to know that I am one of those who know Allah's Book best of all of them, yet I am not the best of them." Shaqiq added: I sat in his religious gathering and I did not hear anybody opposing him (in his speech)

Rapporté par Shaqiq bin Salama : Un jour, `Abdullah bin Mas`ud a fait un sermon devant nous et a dit : « Par Allah, j’ai appris plus de soixante-dix sourates directement du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). Par Allah, les compagnons du Prophète (ﷺ) savent que je fais partie de ceux qui connaissent le mieux le Livre d’Allah parmi eux, mais je ne suis pas le meilleur d’entre eux. » Shaqiq a ajouté : Je me suis assis dans son assemblée religieuse et je n’ai entendu personne le contredire dans ses propos
