Narrated Ar-Rubai' bint Mu'awwidh:"The Prophet (ﷺ) sent a messenger to the village of the Ansar in the morning of the day of 'Ashura' (10th of Muharram) to announce: 'Whoever has eaten something should not eat but complete the fast, and whoever is observing the fast should complete it.' "She further said, "Since then we used to fast on that day regularly and also make our boys fast. We used to make toys of wool for the boys and if anyone of them cried for food, he was given those toys till it was the time of the breaking of the fast

Rapporté par Ar-Rubai’ bint Mu’awadh : « Le Prophète ﷺ a envoyé un messager au village des Ansar le matin du jour de ‘Ashura (le 10 Muharram) pour annoncer : ‘Celui qui a mangé quelque chose ne doit plus manger et doit compléter le jeûne, et celui qui jeûne doit continuer jusqu’au bout.’ » Elle a ajouté : « Depuis ce jour, nous avons pris l’habitude de jeûner ce jour-là régulièrement et nous faisions aussi jeûner nos garçons. Nous fabriquions des jouets en laine pour eux, et si l’un d’eux pleurait à cause de la faim, on lui donnait ces jouets jusqu’à l’heure de la rupture du jeûne. »
