سنن أبي داود 5257

Abu al-Sa’ib said I went to visit Abu Sa’ld al-Khudri, and while I was sitting I heard a movement under under his couch. When I looked and found a snake there, I got up. Abu Sa’ld said:what is with you? I said : Here is a snake. He said : what do you want ? I said : I shall kill it. He then pointed to a room in his house in front of his room and said : My cousin (son of my uncle) was in this room. He asked his permission to go to his wife on the occasion of the battle of Troops (Ahzab), as he was recently married. The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) gave him permission and ordered him to take his weapon with him. He came to his house and found his wife standing at the door of the house. When he pointed to her with the lance, she said; do not make haste till you see what has brought me out. He entered the house and found an ugly snake there. He pierced in the lance while it was quivering. He said : I do not know which of them died first, the man or the snake. His people then came to the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) and said: supplicate Allah to restore our companion to life for us. He said : Ask forgiveness for your Companion. Then he said : In Medina a group of Jinn have embraced Islam, so when you see one of them, pronounce a waring to it three times and if it appears to you after that, kill it after three days

Rapporté par Abu al-Sa’ib : Je suis allé rendre visite à Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, et pendant que j’étais assis, j’ai entendu un bruit sous son lit. En regardant, j’ai vu un serpent. Je me suis levé. Abu Sa’id m’a demandé : « Qu’as-tu ? » J’ai répondu : « Il y a un serpent ici. » Il a dit : « Que veux-tu faire ? » J’ai dit : « Je vais le tuer. » Il a alors montré une pièce de sa maison devant la sienne et a dit : « Mon cousin (le fils de mon oncle) était dans cette pièce. Il avait demandé la permission d’aller voir sa femme lors de la bataille des Coalisés (Ahzab), car il venait de se marier. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ lui a donné la permission et lui a ordonné de prendre son arme. Il est arrivé chez lui et a trouvé sa femme debout à la porte. Quand il a pointé sa lance vers elle, elle a dit : “Ne te précipite pas, regarde d’abord pourquoi je suis sortie.” Il est entré et a trouvé un serpent affreux dans la maison. Il l’a transpercé avec sa lance alors qu’il frémissait encore. Je ne sais pas lequel des deux est mort en premier, l’homme ou le serpent. Sa famille est alors allée voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et a dit : “Invoque Allah pour qu’Il rende la vie à notre compagnon.” Il a répondu : “Demandez pardon pour votre compagnon.” Puis il a dit : “À Médine, un groupe de djinns a embrassé l’islam. Donc, quand vous en voyez un, avertissez-le trois fois, et s’il réapparaît après cela, tuez-le après trois jours.” »
