Safiyyah said :The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) was in the I’TIKAF(seclusion in the mosque). I came to visit him at night . I talked to him, got up and turned my back. He got up with me to accompany me. He was living in the house of Usamah b. Zaid. Two men of the Ansar passed by him. When they saw the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him), they walked quickly. The prophet (May peace be upon him) said: Be at ease; she is Safiyyah daughter of Huyayy. They said: Glory be to Allah, Messenger of Allah! He said: The devil flows in man as the blood flows in him. I feared that he might inject something in your hearts, or he said “evil” (instead of something)

Rapporté par Safiyyah رضي الله عنها : Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ était en retraite spirituelle (i’tikaf) à la mosquée. Je suis venue lui rendre visite la nuit. J’ai parlé avec lui, puis je me suis levée pour partir. Il s’est levé avec moi pour me raccompagner. Il habitait alors chez Usamah ibn Zaid. Deux hommes des Ansar sont passés près de lui. Quand ils ont vu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ, ils ont accéléré le pas. Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Restez tranquilles, c’est Safiyyah, fille de Huyayy. » Ils ont dit : « Gloire à Allah, ô Messager d’Allah ! » Il a répondu : « Le diable circule dans l’homme comme le sang circule en lui. J’ai eu peur qu’il ne mette quelque chose dans vos cœurs », ou il a dit : « le mal » (au lieu de “quelque chose”). »
