سنن أبي داود 4703

Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab: Muslim ibn Yasar al-Juhani said: When Umar ibn al-Khattab was asked about the verse "When your Lord took their offspring from the backs of the children of Adam" - al-Qa'nabi recited the verse--he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say when he was questioned about it: Allah created Adam, then passed His right hand over his back, and brought forth from it his offspring, saying: I have these for Paradise and these will do the deeds of those who go to Paradise. He then passed His hand over his back and brought forth from it his offspring, saying: I have created these for Hell, and they will do the deeds of those who go to Hell. A man asked: What is the good of doing anything, Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah creates a servant for Paradise, He employs him in doing the deeds of those who will go to Paradise, so that his final action before death is one of the deeds of those who go to Paradise, for which He will bring him into Paradise. But when He creates a servant for Hell, He employs him in doing the deeds of those who will go to Hell, so that his final action before death is one of the deeds of those who go to Hell, for which He will bring him into Hell

Rapporté par ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه : Muslim ibn Yasar al-Juhani a dit : Quand ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab fut interrogé au sujet du verset « Quand ton Seigneur prit la descendance des enfants d’Adam de leurs dos » – al-Qa’nabi a récité le verset – il a dit : J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire, lorsqu’on l’interrogea à ce sujet : « Allah a créé Adam, puis Il a passé Sa main droite sur son dos et en a fait sortir sa descendance, en disant : “J’ai ceux-ci pour le Paradis et ils feront les actions de ceux qui vont au Paradis.” Puis Il a passé Sa main sur son dos et en a fait sortir une autre descendance, en disant : “J’ai créé ceux-ci pour l’Enfer, et ils feront les actions de ceux qui vont en Enfer.” Un homme demanda : “À quoi bon agir alors, Messager d’Allah ?” Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ répondit : “Quand Allah crée un serviteur pour le Paradis, Il le guide vers les actions de ceux qui vont au Paradis, si bien que sa dernière action avant sa mort sera une action de ceux qui vont au Paradis, et c’est pour cela qu’Il le fera entrer au Paradis. Mais quand Il crée un serviteur pour l’Enfer, Il le guide vers les actions de ceux qui vont en Enfer, si bien que sa dernière action avant sa mort sera une action de ceux qui vont en Enfer, et c’est pour cela qu’Il le fera entrer en Enfer.” »
