سنن أبي داود 4160

Abdullah ibn Buraydah said:A man from the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) travelled to Fudalah ibn Ubayd when he was in Egypt. He came to him and said: I have not come to you to visit you. But you and I heard a tradition from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I hope you may have some knowledge of it. He asked: What is it? He replied: So and so. He said: Why do I see you dishevelled when you are the ruler of this land? He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has forbidden us to indulge much in luxury. He said: Why do I see you unshod? He replied: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to command us to go barefoot at times

Abdullah ibn Buraydah a dit : Un homme parmi les compagnons du Prophète ﷺ est allé voir Fudalah ibn Ubayd alors qu’il était en Égypte. Il lui a dit : « Je ne suis pas venu te rendre visite, mais toi et moi avons entendu un hadith du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. J’espère que tu t’en souviens. » Il demanda : « Lequel ? » Il répondit : « Tel ou tel. » Il dit : « Pourquoi te vois-je décoiffé alors que tu es le gouverneur de cette région ? » Il répondit : « Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ nous a interdit de trop rechercher le luxe. » Il demanda : « Pourquoi es-tu pieds nus ? » Il répondit : « Le Prophète ﷺ nous commandait parfois de marcher pieds nus. »
