سنن أبي داود 1177

Narrated A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her):There was an eclipse of the sun in the time of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet stood for a long time, accompanied by the people. He then bowed, then raised his head, then he bowed and then he raised his head, and again he bowed and prayed two rak'ahs of prayer. In each rak'ah he bowed three times. After bowing for the third time he prostrated himself. He stood for such a long time that some people became unconscious on that occasion and buckets of water had to be poured on them. When he bowed, he said, Allah is most great; and when he raised his head, he said, Allah listens to him who praises Him, till the sun became bright. then he said: The sun and the moon are not eclipsed on account of anyone's death or on account of anyone's birth, but they are two of Allah's signs, He produces dread in His servants by means of them. When they are eclipsed, hasten to prayer

Rapporté par Aïcha (la mère des croyants) رضي الله عنها : Il y eut une éclipse du soleil à l’époque du Prophète ﷺ. Le Prophète ﷺ se leva longtemps pour prier, accompagné des gens. Ensuite, il s’inclina, releva la tête, puis s’inclina à nouveau, releva la tête, et s’inclina encore, accomplissant ainsi deux unités de prière. Dans chaque unité, il s’inclina trois fois. Après la troisième inclinaison, il se prosterna. Il resta debout si longtemps que certaines personnes perdirent connaissance et on dut leur verser des seaux d’eau. À chaque inclinaison, il disait : « Allah est le plus grand » ; et lorsqu’il relevait la tête, il disait : « Allah entend celui qui Le loue », jusqu’à ce que le soleil redevienne clair. Puis il dit : « Le soleil et la lune ne s’éclipsent pas à cause de la mort ou de la naissance de quelqu’un, ce sont deux signes d’Allah, par lesquels Il fait craindre Ses serviteurs. Quand vous voyez cela, empressez-vous de prier. »
